what's happened since ...

We received a positive pregnancy test of our own on January 27th 2015. Shocked - to say the least but overjoyed once the shock wore off.
I would come to find my due date as September 30th and that we were expecting our first boy!
Our little guy arrived in his own time .. 12 days late on October 12th. He was almost 10lbs and beautiful. I had another wonderful labor and delivery at a birthing center.
Our family is adjusting beautifully. I can not believe that a year ago we had no plans for another baby ... and now I really feel like our family is complete.

I still have plans to carry for another family. My heart is still pulling me to that. I do plan on waiting until after our little one weans from nursing and really focus on our own family this first year/year and a half or so.

For a future couple - I am here, I will be ready and I can not wait to meet you and be a part of your story if you will let me!

Another step forward

We scheduled our mental health exam/appointment for the middle of February, with a home visit to follow the week after. It feels like things are happening SO much faster now than they did in the beginning. Well, because they are!!

Check and check!

My final two medical documents were received by the agency! I was given the name and number of a local mental health clinic and Dr to set up an appointment to take some tests and talk!

It feels like just by getting all of my medical records over to the agency we have finished half a marathon! I seriously did not think it could take MONTHS to get stuff faxed. But it really is reassuring that they want every last detail, both for myself, and for the intended parents (IPs) who we may work with down the road!

I know while I write this, no one is reading. But I wanted to keep as accurate of a record date for myself and perhaps for others looking into this process.
They were NOT joking when they said the paperwork alone can take awhile. They are down to needing the last two documents from my OB's office. So, I will be putting in a request for those again and hopefully they will get to the agency early this week!
Then we will move onto a background check and a mental health exam for myself and my husband!
So that is where we stand for the moment. Still waiting on paperwork.
