our timeline

11.05.14
I started filling out an application with one surrogacy agency (we will refer to as agency A).
11.09.14
The application still sits ready to submit online.
11.10.14
I submitted the application ... and received an email a short few hours later that it was pre-approved!
11.12.14
Submitted an application with what we will agency B.
11.14.14
I had my first phone call with the agency A - another screening of sorts just going over the information that was submitted online and asking a few questions. The call went well and we scheduled a longer phone conference to go over how a typical journey looks, and give me time to ask questions.
11.16.14
Phone conference with agency B. Was able to ask questions about how their process works. The phone call went well, though something did not feel as "right" as it did with agency A.
Later that day we made our decision to work with agency A!
11.17.14
I started gathering paperwork together - from our insurance, doctors office, and signing papers about various information releases.
11.18.14
Stopped by my OB office to drop paperwork off and request information be sent to the agency. If my OB office stays true to their timeline, the agency should have our forms by next week or early the following (because of Thanksgiving). We also faxed over various releases to the agency!
11.24-11.26.14
Sent messages back and forth with my OB office about having records faxed and more information needed about some notes in the record.
12.16-12.17.14
Sending more messages about missing files from my OB office needed by the agency.
01.11.15
Missing two pieces of information from my records. Requesting those from the OB office to be faxed to the agency. Then we can move onto the next step.
01.21.15
We found out the agency had received all of the records they needed for my medical/ob history. Now to schedule our mental health exams!
01.22.15
Mental health evaluation is scheduled for February.
01.24.15
Received paperwork regarding finances to fill out and return.
01.26.15
Finance paperwork faxed to the agency.
01.27.15
Home visit scheduled for late February after the mental health exams.
Later that day ... I received a positive pregnancy test of my own and the home visit was cancelled.
10.12.15
12 days after his "due date" we welcomed our third baby into the world!
01.2017
Started communicating with the surrogacy agency again, preparing for what we need to have in order to continue our journey!
04.2017
Paperwork, paperwork and more paperwork. With a few appointments thrown in the mix!
04.19.17
I set up my annual exam with my midwife and our mental health consultation. Both of those will be complete by mid June and we should be able to start the next part of the process!
04.24.17
We have our home visit scheduled for May 19th!
I found out I need to transfer my records to an OB somewhere. I am hoping to get back in with my original OB that cleared me to carry the first time around.

I must note that this was not a decision that was made over the course of a week to ten days. This has been something I have been thinking about doing since we decided that our own family was complete. In simple terms - I love being pregnant and have had wonderful birth experiences. This is a gift that I am able to give - and I am not sure I could do anything bigger than this for someone else!
